Paint finishes

FM Coatings have vast knowledge in all the latest wet paint applications and textures.

FM Coatings have also been involved with plastic most paint systems for major vehicle and moulding manufacturers at the start of a project to help develop new paint systems and applications.

With our input and that of the paint manufacturer, we have helped eliminate costly set up procedures, extensive trails and high scrap levels.

These new paint systems or application methods are methodically developed to achieve the customers goals and test criteria in the shortest of times.

Plastic Coating Equipment

FM Coatings have invested heavily into our plant and equipment. Our in house paint technicians whom have over thirty years experience between them have designed, built improved and upgraded  all our process equipment and procedures.

State of the art delta wet spray automated process plant consisting of:

• 5x5x5m high efficiency water wash both connected to deltas latest aqua cleanse water scrub system.

• High efficiency air purification supply system.

• 1 dual gun abb paint robot.

• State of the art itw computer controlled paint feed and calibration system able to control multiple colour mixes at once.

• 15 paint,5 hardener paint feed kitchen with agitation, recirculation and under nitrogen blankets all filtered by three levels of filtration inc cuno bag filters.

• 2 itw ransburg 2k mixers connected to the paint robot via dual calibrated spray guns. Capable of paint changes in one minute.

• Pre clean and manual de-ionise room connected to our abb plasma robot and final stage automatic  de-ionise prior to painting.

• Caldan closed loop hd conveyor capable of load up to 150 kg working in both index or continuous modes with rotation all  computer controlled linking parts, paint feed and painting together.

• 15 minute flash off area linked to a 30 min oven all with variable temperature control.

• All of the above including temperature controlled paint stores and load and unload area housed in a 7500 square feet enclosure.

Manual Booths

• 3 man manual spray booth with 2k auto mixing and application equipment, enclosed clean room and 5m x 5m box oven all temperatures calibrated.

• 2 man manual spray booth with 2k auto mixing and application equipment.

• 2 man manual spray booth for delicate work.

Paint Systems

Various pressure feed paint systems.

Extensive paint test equipment.

All 100% inspection benches on d65 daylight high efficiency bulbs running at 1100 lux per bench.

This is a brief outline of our equipment all of which runs on energy efficient motors, lighting, air and water system. All equipment has a extensive maintenance program and calibration schedule. Through our knowledge of our equipment, processes and new innovations we have achieved record results whilst maintaining the flexibility that our customers have now come to  accept as the norm.

Printing

FM Coatings have the ability to tampo print any logo, trademark or instruction onto any shape plastic component with our tampo print machines.

We have three varying sizes of machines to suit your print requirement.

All machines have interchangeable beds for ease and speed of component change eliminating downtime and set up.

We also have knowledge in laser etching paints and paint laser etching.

Flocking Fiber Coatings

FM Coatings have a vast knowledge of flocking components.

This is a process of applying hundreds of thousands of small nylon fibres per square inch to your raw component and then applying a electric charge making them all stand up thus giving the appearance of a velvety smooth component.

These type of components are normally found in coin trays, glove boxes etc on more luxury models but can be applied to any surface, any colour and any length of fibre.
